Coming Up for Air

It's been a long week. Sabrina's been sick and has kindly passed it on to me. As a result, I am woefully behind in posting, so this is going to be a combo entry for most of our recent activities.

My sister Sarah and my brother-in-law Brad have birthdays two days apart from each other. On Memorial Day the Sebalds all got together for a celebratory birthday dinner for them both. The rain thwarted our plans for a barbecue, but my mom put out a great spread indoors. We all had a good time hanging out and Sabrina made herself at home by "decorating" my parents living room with toys.

Last weekend we wanted to take advantage of the break in the rain to let Sabrina run around outside. Kev's parents were in town, so we headed over to Watkins park after Sunday breakfast.

We were the first ones there and everything was still damp, but Sabrina charged right in! Stevie took up his normal position with Pop-pop, but the way the playground is designed, he was able to play too.

We were going to re-visit the farm animals, now that Sabrina can really identify them, but it wasn't opened yet. Instead, the kids got to take their first carousel ride!

Today was Cheverly Day 2009! After our experience last year, we were excited for what the day would bring. I went over early to help my parents' group set up our activity booth (a "Tots' Corner" for the little kids) and Kev and my mom brought our kids over after the booths opened.

Sabrina had fun playing and exploring with Grandma Sebald...though I suspect her favorite part of the day was the two juice boxes (sorry mom!). The kids both collapsed for a late nap as soon as we got home.

Kev and I watched the fireworks together from the front porch. Unfortunately, either our neighbor's trees have grown or the town shot the fireworks lower this year because we couldn't see much (though the noise was deafening!). Amazingly enough, both kids slept through the whole thing!

Stevie's favorite food is anything that he can get his hands on...particularly if it belongs to his sister.

I think this sequence is pretty self-explanatory...

Stevie was SO pleased with himself!

Andrew and I love the sequence of Stevie falling in the trunk! :)

Does that mean you're NOT going to call Child Protective Services on us? 'Cause that would be good. :)
