Everyone was healthy by the end of the week, so we decided to take another swing at the whole family going to Richboro. Sabrina had been talking about Lila all week. I acted offended one day and asked if she'd rather live with Lila or with Mommy... She didn't even pause before throwing me under the bus.
Kev's mom and dad also had a fun plan for the weekend. They bought tickets for everyone to go to Sesame Place! It's only about 20 minutes away from where they live. I've never been so I looked up the web site. It seems like nothing short of nirvana for pre-schoolers. We knew that Sabrina and Lila would go crazy. Stevie's slightly on the young end, but about a quarter of his current words are Sesame Street characters, so we were confident that he'd have a good time too.
Unfortunately, the weather Gods were not working in our favor. Just as we were ready to walk out the door, it started sprinkling. As we were debating whether or not to go anyway, the skies opened up.
The grown-ups were more disappointed that the kids. For their part, they probably had just as much fun "watching" the rain from the front porch as they would've at the amusement park (they definitely got just as wet!!). The pictures really tell the story here.
Sabrina, Lila, and Stevie were all drenched and happy and exhausted by the time we finally urged them back inside. We found out that the tickets are good through the end of the season and are actually 2-day passes, so we'll plan another trip soon. That made everyone feel a bit better.
While the girls watched TV in the family room before dinner, Stevie went on a solo expedition in search of a "CAT" (like his sister, one of his favorite words). He found an unsuspecting Bonkers in the living room. Again, I'm going to let the pictures tell the story:
We stayed as late as we could on Sunday before driving back home. Traffic was a mess and we were all beat when we finally got to the house. We were bee-lining to get the kids to bed so that we could sleep when Kev noticed a strange sound coming from the kitchen. We quickly discovered that the tube which brings water to our ice maker had sprung a leak. There was 2" of water on our kitchen floor and the laundry room (which is right below) had streams of water soaking through the ceiling. Everything was a mess.
It was late, but I called my dad anyway. He helped us figure out how to stop the flow of water (and a few days later came by to replace the busted hose--thank you!) and Kev and I worked together to get everything cleaned up. I guess I can chalk it up to a good team-building exercise, but it is definitely not on my short list of things to again. Ugh.

Yowsers - way to ruin a perfectly good day with water in the house. Glad it's all fixed now. Mike
